Add More Ing to Your Life Review & GIVEAWAY

March 1, 2010

In her self transformation book Add More ~Ing to Your Life: A Hip Guide to Happiness, motivational speaker and life coach Gabrielle Bernstein shows you how to make happiness a way of life.  She provides readers with self coaching tools to discover their highest potential mentally, physically and spiritually.  With systematic, easy-to-follow steps and personal experiences, Gabrielle captures the essence of personal growth for achieving a satisfied, healthy and happy life.  This book can be helpful whether you’re looking for a total transformation or just a little happy attitude shift.

Add More ~Ing to Your Life: A Hip Guide to Happiness is a 30 day program of rethinking, moving and receiving with affirmations, exercise and meditation.  Gabrielle presents information that is unique because each lesson is paired with a physical activity.  The chapters break down as follows:

Chapter 1     Feeling: Surrender then Release (Dancing)

Chapter 2     Forgiving: Set Yourself Free (Jumping Rope)

Chapter 3     Balancing: Bringing Serenity Back (Rebounding/Trampoline)

Chapter 4     Mirroring: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Walking)

Chapter 5     Releasing: Romantic Illusions (intenSati/Cardio/Aerobic Dancing)

Chapter 6     Climbing: Ing Your Way to Higher Thoughts (Rock Climbing/Hiking)

Chapter 7     Stretching: Beyond the Ego’s Backlash (Yoga/Pilates)

Chapter 8     Quantum Shifting: Life’s Phone Booth Moments (“Physically Out of Your Comfort Zone” Choice)

Chapter 9     Focusing: Tuning Your Energy into a Positive Frequency (Running/Uni-Cycling/Golfing/Shooting Hoops/Archery)

Chapter 10   Knowing: The Universe has Your Back (Meditation)

Chapter 11     Manifesting: Co-Create with the Universe (Outside Moving)

Chapter 12     Adding More ~Ing to Your Life (Any Moving)

I am a self-proclaimed motivational and self help book junkie.  I love to read books that are inspiring and make me want to do more with my life.  I found this book absolutely fascinating!  Gabrielle Bernstein has a fresh style and from the moment I picked up the book, I felt as is she was sitting right next to me talking and guiding me thru each lesson.  It’s easy to take her ideas and apply them practically. My only concern (as with any self help book) is that if your like me you’ll want to start applying every idea and can become quickly overwhelmed. Listen to what Gabrielle is trying to teach you, however don’t try to do everything at once. Start off with a few ideas and once you’ve mastered them move onto the next. Follow the guidelines set in this book and you will have no problems.

Gabrielle Bernstein is so powerful and motivational and I would love to attend one of her speaking events! She is currently conducting a national speaking circuit for her book Add More ~Ing to Your Life: A Hip Guide to Happiness. StickyLife.com Review & GIVEAWAY

February 25, 2010

Whether you’re a Mom looking for something special to show love and support for your children’s school activities, a small business owner looking for self-promotional items or just enjoy personalized items, Sticky Life is the company for you! Call me a dork, but I think its fun to read the stickers and such on cars while you’re stuck in traffic or at a red light, because each sticker means something to that person or family. Sticky Life offers 14 different, customizable products at prices affordable to the average family. Some of the products available on their site are stickers, decals, temporary tattoo’s, dog tags, magnets, key chains, pin backed buttons, bumper stickers, banners and more! Other websites and local sign makers that offer some of the same kinds of products charge expensive art charges, set up fees and usually require a minimum order of a 100 in order to even make your product. I understand that at times you may want to purchase 100 of the same sticker for team promotional purposes, but for the average person wanting only one do I really need to order 100?!? I was happy to find that Sticky Life has NO art charges, NO set up fees, and NO minimum quantity requirements. They felt that people would appreciate paying less for higher quality products and by having the customer create their own products through their online design tool it eliminated the need for expensive art charges and set up fees. I am by no means a techie or have any kind of design skill, but I had the opportunity to try their online design tool and found it to be very user-friendly. It was simple to use, easy to navigate and definitely brought out a creative side I didn’t know I had!

So now you can create that awesome bumper sticker and purchase only one; create a personalized gift for a friend; or support your favorite club, team, group or player! The possibilities are endless with Sticky Life and that is why I find their motto so fitting: THINK IT STICK IT.

As part of my review, Sticky Life allowed me to create personalized items for my family. Their customer service team is really great. They were so helpful and very quick to respond with any questions I had. I ordered these items on their website using their online design tool and received them within 4 business days. First, I created something for my fiance’s daughter. She started cheerleading last year and I wanted to create something fun to show our support for her. I personalized the megaphone with her team colors, added her team name and year and a small cheerleader graphic. I was truly impressed ~ this is SO cute! She hasn’t seen this on our car yet, so we are going to surprise her next time we pick her up.

Next, my fiance helped me create a customized White Sox sticker. We started out with a baseball shape sticker (and was even able to choose the color of the baseball), added the team name, a saying my fiance told me is said every time they score, and a baseball graphic. When this came in the mail, my fiance was thrilled! (Please note in the photo there is a small spot on the sticker that is messed up. This was not caused by the company. The sticker arrived in perfect condition and this is a result of an error on our part while applying it to the car).

And finally, I decided on something for me. Aside from my blog, I own a home business so I wanted to create something that included my information but also offered flexibility in how I could use it. I decided to go with the cling. I started off with the rectangular shape static cling and chose a gray backgr0und, added my information and two graphics. I’m really happy with how this turned out, because now I can advertise while out and about. I really want to create a banner for my events and a larger vinyl sticker for the back window of my car, so I think Sticky Life will be seeing more of me!

BUY IT: You can customize and purchase your own products at Sticky Life. For those of you who can’t wait or would like to purchase something after this giveaway ends, you can use code: FrugalLiving for 25% off your entire purchase.

WIN IT: Sticky Life is giving one lucky Frugal Southern Living reader a $50 Gift Code! Please keep in mind that the winner is still responsible for shipping and tax (typically less than $2).

HOW TO ENTER: You MUST complete the mandatory entry below. It only takes one entry to win, however if you’d like a few extra entries you can complete any or all of the additional entries below. Note: Extra entries will only count AFTER you’ve completed the mandatory entry. Please leave a separate comment below for each entry.

How to Save Money with Medical & Dental Clinical Trials

Ok, so I posted my very first daily post yesterday and today we are continuing with “How Tuesday”! I’m complied some information for you on how to save money on medical and dental expenses”. Stay tuned for more how to tips each Tuesday.

NOTE: I have not personally dealt with any of the companies listed below. I’ve pulled information from the internet in an effort to have a starting point for you to find the companies you’d like to work with.

Save on Medical Expenses

Sign-up for Medical Clinical Trials. Clinical trial volunteers are essential to the development of new therapies. Your participation could potentially benefit others by increasing knowledge about a disease and its potential treatments. You may be one of the first patients to experience positive results from a new therapy that may one day relieve or eliminate an illness. In addition, with most companies, you will receive personalized medical treatment, free study medication and laboratory tests. Companies will also reimburse you for your travel expenses. Aside from the few companies I’ve listed below, I would also check with your local medical universities and ask about their upcoming clinical trials. Here’s a few companies to get you started:

Donate Blood. Not only does donating blood save lives, there are benefits for you as well. I will research this a little more to see if it’s just my area or for all donations, but when you donate blood you can actually save money on all blood services for you for the next 12 months! Need a blood test for medical reasons and there is a co-pay for your insurance? If you’ve given blood, this co-pay is covered. Currently, only about 3 in 100 Americans donates blood. I have tried several times, but unfortunately every time I go they are not able to because of my small veins. I keep trying hoping that I’ll get to donate. Check http://www.redcrossblood.org/ or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to find a local donation location. You can also check eligibility requirements HERE.

Donate Plasma. Ok, so this one may not save you money, but in some areas it could pay you! I have not looked into how much they pay, but check out the websites below or call your local center to ask about paid plasma donation.

Save on Dental Expenses

Sign-up for Dental Clinical Trials. Just like the medical clinical trials, you can receive some of the same benefits by participating in dental clinical trials. Some of the companies will be the same as above and a few new ones. If your lucky enough to have a dental teaching school near you, check for prices on dental work. You’ll receive great care (as students are working with dentist), help students learn their career, and receive discounted dental work!

52 to Fabulous

52 to Fabulous

Working Towards MY Fabulous-ness!

I LOVE participating in challenges. This is the 4th one I’ll be starting since January 1st this year! I think I’ll limit it to that, for now. I find that getting involved with others that have similar goals can be motivating, inspiring, helpful and most of all provides accountability!

Two wonderful women Cassie and Linda have created “52 to Fabulous” and encourage women to join in for the next 52 weeks to work towards a better you. If you’ve seen my homepage, you’ll know I have ALOT of New Years Resolutions to accomplish this year. This is definately going to help me break it down a little more where it will be manageable and accomplishable! Don’t forget to subscribe to their Weekly Newsletter. You’ll receive the weekly challenges and motivation by e-mail.

Each month has been broken down into topics to help improve your life. It’s time to start making those changes and getting what you really want! The topics given are a guideline. Everyone participating will be working on different goals within the topic. For example, the first month is “Fabulous Beginnings”. I will be working on my two home businesses this month. Since I’ve not done much in the last few months with my Mary Kay business and my blog is new, this is the perfect chance for a “fabulous beginning”.  Now this could mean something totally different to you. A fabulous beginning could be to quit smoking, improve your relationships, or anything else you can come with. Make it something YOU want to achieve!

12 FABULOUS Monthly Topics

  • January- Fabulous Beginnings
  • Feburary- Fabulous Organization
  • March- Fabulous Fitness
  • April- Fabulous Food

  • June- Fabulous Fun
  • July- Fabulous Hobbies
